China is the world’s largest exporter, and unlike Brazil, they don’t go on recess from 24/12 to 02/01, as they celebrate the new year following the lunar calendar, which usually takes place between the end of January or the beginning of February.
In 2021, the Chinese New Year will be celebrated on February 12. In practice, the vast majority of exporting factories start their recess even before this date, between January 25 and February 1, and can return to work around February 20.
This date requires a lot of planning and organization, as during this period export operations are paralyzed because it is a festive date for them. There is often a shortage of vehicles available to collect and deliver containers, a lack of space for departures before February 12 and delays in operations.
